$50 Discount For An Apple Watch When It’s Purchased With An iPhone

Apple is cutting off the price of its smartwatch by $50, but only if it’s bought with any iPhone. This offer is temporary and available through in-store purchases in Boston and San Francisco Bay areas. However, the promotion, which will end on November 15 doesn’t include the Watch Edition and Apple Watch Hermès model.

Apple is trying to boost sales for its Apple Watch smartwatch, which was released in April, this year. In the first quarter, Apple already sold 3.95 million units, creating cause for concern from other rival companies such as Samsung Electronics and Motorola, which have created smartwatches running on Android Wear. Even Apple CEO Tim Cook said in July that the sales of the Apple Watch exceeded the sales of the first iPhone and iPad when they were launched, so the things are going great for this product. The Apple smartwatch is becoming more popular by the day and most likely, there will be many interested fans who will want to buy it in the holiday season, for personal use or as a gift for a loved one.

It’s unusual that Apple is offering discounts for a new device, as it tends to cut prices during the annual Black Friday sales, so this is a premiere. But the promotion is available only for the Apple Store locations in the San Francisco Bay (Burlingame; Chestnut Street; Corte Madera; Hillsdale; San Francisco and Stonestown) and the Boston metro area (Boylston Street; Burlington; CambridgeSide and Chestnut Hill).

Apple Watch Specs

The device runs on watchOS and it comes in four variants of models: Apple Watch Sport, Apple Watch, Apple Watch Hermès and Apple Watch Edition, but the last two models are not included in this offer. However, both of the Apple Watch Sport and Apple Watch come with two variants of screen sizes: 38mm and 42mm and they’re compatible with iPhones running on iOS 8.2 or later.

The 38mm models measure 38.6×33.3×10.5 mm and have displays with a diagonal of 1.32-inch which supports a resolution of 272×340 pixels at 290 ppi (the Watch Sport has a strengthened Ion-X glass on top of it, while the Watch model has Sapphire glass), while the 42mm model has a 1.5-inch display supporting 312×390 pixels at 303 ppi.

Both smartwatches are powered by an Apple S1 processor which is backed by 512 MB of RAM and PowerVR SGX543 graphics and support an internal memory of 8GB.
