Sharing your location on Android is very simple but some of you often make it as an overlooked feature. We sometime waste time to describe for your friends where we are exactly, especially when in new places. But have you known to send your exact location quickly and accurately with your Android smartphone. Let’s take a look at a few different ways to do this with your messaging apps.
- Share your location with Facebook Messenger
When you type your message, you will see the GPS location symbol at the right corner of the message box; just tap on it. A Facebook pop-up prompts you to turn on location for Messenger, confirm it. Now whenever you send messages they will be tagged with your location. Your friends can select “view map” in the Messenger conversation option for a more detailed view.
- Share your location with Messenger (SMS)
You can also share your location easily using the stock Android messaging service too. You just go to the conversation you wish to share a location, tap on “paper clip” icon and then choose location. You can search for a location, or tap on the GPS button to locate automatically your location. When you hit “send” button, your friends will receive the Google Maps ID for your location.
- Share your location with Google Maps
Using Google Maps can be seen as the best choice as you can select any of the messaging apps you have installed to deliver the address. Open Google Maps and select your location, then press and hold on the area of the map you want to send. Then you’ll see a red “pin” icon dropping onto the map, below is the address. Tap on the address and tap on share options. A list of ways to share your location will appear, just select the one you want to use.
- Share your location with WhatsApp Messenger
Go to the WhatsApp conversation you want to send your location, then tap on the attach button, then select “location”. WhatsApp will find your location, then all you have to do is tap on “send your current location” and the address will automatically be added into the conversation. And you can send your current location at any time.
