Xiaomi often upgrades its flagship with an “s” version like Apple and then introduces a more affordable “c” version. Thanks to The 3C certification from China, they give us more details as well as photos about the upcoming Xiaomi’s smartphone.
The Mi 5C has a metal back like his brother 5s as well, but without the brushed finish. According to leaked images, the device looks attractive and especially might be cheaper than the already affordable flagship.
The Mi 5C will sport a 5.2-inch FullHD display with 2.5D curved glass on the front. As being seen as a lite version of Xiaomi Mi 5S, so the device is just equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core chipset manufactured on 14nm process. The chipset is packed with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage. To keep everything working well is a 3,200mAh non- removable battery, with Quick Charge from Qualcomm, which is expected to bring an impressive battery life.
At the back of the Xiami Mi 5C comes with a 12MP main camera and a 8MP snapper on the front for selfies. But we are not sure about the image quality as it will depend on what sensors Xiaomi uses on it upcoming smartphone. Other smart connectivity such as Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, 4G LTE with VoLTE support, Bluetooth 4.1 Low Energy, GPS with GLONASS, USB Type-C port… are also included. The fingerprint scanner is placed at the front embedded the physical Home button like on his brother Xiaomi 5 & 5s. Xiaomi Mi 5C will run on Android MIUI 8 when out of the box but the base Android version is still unclear.

The Xiaomi Mi 5c is expected to introduce before the upcoming Mi 6 flagship, which should arrive around March. Pricing has not unveiled yet, but a Mi 5s with 3GB/64GB is just over €300 and the older Mi 5 3GB/32GB is €250, so we do hope the price tag of Mi 5C will be reasonable.
