Gionee Unveils A New Mid-Range Gionee F5 Smartphone

After the leaks appearing on TENAA last December, the Gionee F5 has officially been unveiled today and will be available in China. Although Gionee still managed to surprise us, we still knew what to expect.

According to the leaks before, the Gionee F5 will land on mid-range smartphone class as it features a 5.3-inch screen with 720p resolution. Besides, the device is expected to be powered by Mediatek MT6750 octa-core SoC clocked at 1.5 GHz with Mali-T860MP2 GPU. The powerful mid-range chipset will be paired with 4GB RAM and 32GB of built-in storage, which can be expanded via a microSD card slot. The fingerprint scanner is embedded into the Physical Home button at the front.

In terms of camera, The Gionee F5 comes with a standard imaging department when it has a 13MP rear camera with f2.2, autofocus, a LED flash and a 8MP camera at the front for selfies. Other smart connectivity features such as Wi-Fi 802.11ac dual-band, 4G LTE with VoLTE support, Bluetooth 4.2 Low Energy, , and Micro USB 2.0 are also included. A huge 4000mAh battery will power all features of the smartphone. The upcoming Gionee smartphone will run on the latest Amigo launcher based Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow when out of box. The Gionee F5 will be available in gold and rose gold color options when they start going on sale. The retail price of the device will cost CNY 1,799 or about $260. That is pretty much twice the Meizu M5, which has similar specs but is just as an entry-level smartphone. The Gionee F5 is now available for Chinese market, and we don’t have any information about that Gionee will bring it to other markets.
