Sony introduced the mid-range Xperia XA1smartphone- the successor of Xperia XA last year, at the MWC 2017 in Barcelona. According to UK retailer Clove, the handset will be landing in Europe next month. In the UK, the Xperia XA1 is expected to start shipping on the April 10th. Although the information for other European markets isn’t available yet, we hope the smartphone will also go on sale in a few other European markets before the end of next month.
The UK retailer Clove has said that the Xperia XA1 would be available in White, Black, and Gold color options with the price tag 229 GBP (including VAT). Pre-orders are now ready, so if you feel interested in the Sony Xperia XA1, you can pre-order right now.
The Xperia XA1 features a 5-inch 720p IPS display, which gives a pixel density of 294 PPI. Powering the device is the MediaTek Helio P20 octa-core SoC, clocked at 2.3 GHz, with the Mali-T880MP2 GPU for taking the graphics. The chipset is packed with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of inbuilt storage, which can be expandable by up to 256GB via a microSD card.
In terms of camera, the Xperia XA1 features a 23MP primary camera with 24mm wide-angle f/2.0 aperture lens, hybrid autofocus, 5x Clear Image Zoom, SteadyShot stabilization, and a single LED flash. On the front is an 8MP Exmor R sensor with a 23mm wide-angle f/2.0 aperture lens and ISO support for up to 3200. Other connectivity features include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2 Low Energy, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, NFC, USB Type-C, and 4G LTE support. Keeping the light on is the quite small 2300mAh capacity battery with Qnovo Adaptive Charging tech and the MediaTek’s PumpExpress 2.0 quick charging standard. As for software, the Xperia XA1 will be shipping with Android 7.0 Nougat, with Sony’s custom UI layer on top.
