All of you know that Samsung didn’t introduce its duo Galaxy S8 & S8+ flagship smartphones at the MWC this year, instead the South Korean company paused the launch until March 29 with an event in New York. You might also have read many articles about the release date of the duo on April 21. But how about the pre-orders? When will it begin?
Luckily, a new report today from Samsung’s home country comes to ascertain all wonders. However, you should keep in mind that even if it’s true, the pre-order is only for the specific market. Of course, Samsung could allow taking pre-orders for its smartphones on the same day globally, but the report doesn’t talk about that.
Therefore, the duo S8 and S8+ smartphones will be up for pre-order in Korea starting from April 7, which is the same day with the release of the LG G6 in Canadian and US market. Samsung and the three biggest Korean carriers will take up the pre-orders for the S8 and S8+ until April 17. Then, there will be a special “S8 pre-launch event” being hold at some of the carriers’ stores on April 18. But only selected subscribers will be able to attend the events, and these will have prize draws that you can win a KRW 3 million prize, which is approximately $2,644 or €2,473.
Finally, the official sales of the duo S8 and S8+ will be available from April 21, which is confirmed once again since the launch date for the handsets. Because Samsung has been rumored to prepare a simultaneous release globally in many countries, so it can probably do the same for pre-orders. Hence, if there is a carrier or retailer near you that starts those on April 7, you should not be surprised.
