Coolpad has just launched a new mid-range smartphone in India, called the Note 5 Lite, which might be the smaller and more affordable version of the Coolpad Note 5 launched last September.
The Note 5 Lite comes with a 5-inch display with the 1280 x 720p resolution. Powering the device will be the 64-bit MediaTek MT6735CP quad-core chipset, clocked at 1.00 GHz. The SoC is packed with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, which can be expandable via a microSD card slot. At the back of the device is a 13MP main camera with a f/2.2 aperture lens, autofocus, LED flash, while on the front is an 8MP secondary camera with LED flash. This is great for selfie lovers out there, as you’ll be able to take better selfie shots in low-light conditions. The device also has a fingerprint scanner placed on the back below the rear camera.
The Coolpad Note 5 Lite owns a metal body along with a 2,500mAh non-removable battery capacity. As for software, the device will run on the company’s Cool UI 8.0 user interface on top based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS. The Coolpad Note 5 Lite will exclusively go on sale via Amazon India, with sales starting on Tuesday, March 2 with gold and gray color options available. Customers will need to fork out Rs. 8,199 to get it.
Besides, Coolpad also shared some intentions regarding its ambitious plans in Indian market. The company targets to become the bestselling exclusive smartphone brand on Amazon India till the end of this year. However, Coolpad will have to face the severe competitions from other smartphone manufacturers if they want to make a big influence in India. One of them is Xiaomi, which recently announced that the company sold out one million Redmi Note 4 smartphones in India just after the 45 days since its launch.
