Xiaomi Launches The Redmi 4A Smartphone In India

Xiaomi – one of the biggest smartphone makers in the world – launched the Redmi 4A smarphone in India at a very low price of 5,999 INR (91 USD).

Although, many color options was introduced, the manufacturers only marketed in dark gray, yellow and pink yellow colors for this smartphone. The Redmi 4A smartphone is designed with eye-catching features.

The Redmi 4A features a 5-inch IPS HD display with 450 nit maximum brightness, and 1000:1 contrast ratio. Powering the Redmi 4A will be the Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 425 quad-core chipset clocked at 1.4 GHz, with the Adreno 308 GPU for handling graphic. The chipset will be packed with two configurations – 2GB of RAM with 16GB of built-in storage, which can be expandable via a microSD card slot. At the rear, the Redmi 4A comes equipped a 13MP primary camera with an f/2.0 aperture lens, phase detection autofocus, and an LED flash. On the front is a 5MP resolution snapper for selfies and video calls.

Other connectivity features include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2 Low Energy, GPS with A-GPS, Hybrid Dual SIM slots, and 4G LTE. All features of the Redmi 4A will be kept by a 3120mAh capacity battery. In terms of dimensions, the device measures 139.5×70.4×8.5mm and weighs at 135 grams.

Xiaomi is targeting to take up30 percent of the Indian online market. The company also talked about setting up a second production plant – probably producing a per-minute Indian smartphone , which is owned and operated by Foxconn.

In November 2016, Xiaomi Redmi 4A (the lowest model in the Redmi 4 series) was released in China alongside Xiaomi Redmi 4 and Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime. At that time, the Redmi 4 was priced at 699 yuan (Rs 6,900), and the Redmi 4A was offered at 499 yuan (4,900 rupees)- lower INR 1000 over its launch in India.

Starting at 12 noon on March 23, 2017, the yellow option of Redmi 4A will be available on Mi.com and Amazon India. Those who are interested in this product should make online orders first because it is not sold offline.
