Last week, ZTE’s sub brand Nubia officially rolled out Nubia Z17 in China. The Cristiano Ronaldo-endorsed handset was available to purchase yesterday, and all of the units were sold out in just 56 seconds.
Although ZTE hasn’t announced the exact number of Nubia Z17 mini devices sold at that time, according to reports from Chinese media today, the total income went up to more than 100 million yuan. As the highest price of the Nubia Z17 mini is CNY 1,999, this refers to at least 50,000 products purchased in less than one minute.
The Nubia Z17 features a design and specs lineup which easily make people think of it as a flagship device. There are 4 color options available, including champagne gold, black gold, red and elegant black. As for design, it owns a thin metal cover along with the disappearance of a home button. However, the company adds a new red ring marking at the front, this is the position of the virtual home button.
Additionally, the Z17 Mini provides users with a standard specification, which will probably let them down. The device is powered by a Snapdragon 653 SoC, which is backed by 6GB of RAM. There is also another version with a Snapdragon 652 and 4GB of RAM. It can be said that the most unique point of the Nubia Z17 mini is the dual camera system at the rear and the large pixel front camera. Moreover, the dual camera brings up 4K ultra-high resolution video recording as well as 0.1s mix focus. It also offers time lapse feature and enables slow motion capturing.
If you are interested in the new version of Nubia mini but from a different country, please notice that not following the same strategy of previous Nubia smartphones, this device is supposed to expand outside China.
