After the release of Idol 4 lineup, users are looking forward to the next-generation device of Alcatel. As can be seen from the leaked image, the Alcatel Idol 5S isn’t changed so much, which means it follows a main flagship model of the company. However, this year, Alcatel is likely to unveil the “S” model featuring normal sized 5.3-inch worldwide.
In comparison with last year’s product, Alcatel might make a change in the way they name their device. It was designed to have a bigger size with a 5.5-inch screen and a bundled VR headset. As twitted by Roland Quandt, the device implies for Cricket Wireless.
In addition, several improvements are made to the upper and lower speakers. The users highly value the Idol 4S’s dual-direction speakers and therefore, they expect to see it on the next idol smartphone. The Boom key on the right side seems to be placed lower.
Apart from those differences, the phone bears much resemblance to the previous version Idol 4. The back of this Idol 4S version had an impressive pattern that is placed in the center of the fingerprint scanner, this reminds us of the reflection on a compact disk. Let’s wait to see if Alcatel has brought anything new to the back of Idol 5.
Indeed, we have heard about Alcatel’s new flagship model once in March on some benchmarking websites such as GFXBench and Geekbench. According to these specs sheets, the device runs on MediaTek Helio P20 chipset with a Mali-T880 GPU. The chipset is paired with 3GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal storage, and a 5.2-inch display with 1920×1080 pixels resolution. As for camera, there might be a 12MP camera at back and an 8MP front selfie sensor.
