Many sources of information estimate that ZenFone AR will be launched this summer and until now the CEO of the company has officially announced the phone will be publicized in Taiwan in mid-June, and then in the United States at the end of June or in early July.
Although the ZenFone AR is regarded as the first Tango-powered device in Taiwan, it is actually the second Tango one to be rolled out in the market because manufacturers integrated both Tango and Daydream into a package. Some people may not be accustomed to the name “Tango.” In fact, Tango is an app, which makes use of an advanced 3D sensing chip to navigate users’ location in relation to their settings when there are no GPS or external signals. Google hopes that it will improve the way you use apps.
According to Google and Asus, the ZenFone AR which was revealed back in January, will soon appear in selected markets this summer. Specifically, Asus’ Tango-powered smartphone will be unveiled in Taiwan in mid-June and it will debut on Verizon in late June or early July, says Engadget, Jerry Shen, CEO of Asus.

Among 100+ Tango AR apps, up to 50 apps are operating well on the Asus ZenFone AR; however, a significant increase in app quantities is being expected next months. It may be a bit disappointed when the ZenFone AR only comes with a 5.7-inch QHD OLED screen. It is not as large as the Lenovo Phab 2 Pro, which is known as the first Tango-supported device to feature Snapdragon 821 and 8GB of RAM.
In spite of the fact that the ZenFone AR lacks Snapdragon 835, the ZenFone AR still can supply a lot of power without overheating, thanks to a vapor cooling system and the chipset’s Hexagon 680 processor, which was fine-tuned by Qualcomm itself. At the moment, the version with 6GB of RAM is made public. Nonetheless, information related its price is still kept secret. According to Shen, it is certain that ASUS will not place a higher level of price than that of Galaxy S8 Plus for this product. Hence, it is possible for you to wait for a reasonable price.
